Flip Spot: Stick the Landing

Flip Spot turns a simple jump into a tiny airborne adventure. Launch from a platform, spin through the air, and try to land on your feet inside the target area. Sounds easy, right? Well, your character may politely disagree. Every jump is a quick test of timing, rotation, and knowing when to stop showing off.

How to Play

Each attempt begins on an elevated platform. Hold the jump button while your character is on the ground, then release it to launch into the air. Once airborne, holding the same input makes the character flip.

The trick is finding the sweet spot between “one neat flip” and “whoops, I am upside down.” Keep an eye on your character’s body and feet as you rotate. Release the control early enough to let the character straighten out before reaching the landing zone. If you hold for too long, even a beautiful rotation can end with a very unglamorous crash.

Different launch heights and landing distances change the amount of airtime you have. Lower jumps are better for simple rotations, while higher platforms give you more freedom to attempt extra flips. Start carefully, learn the timing, and become more ambitious once you know how much air you have to work with.

Controls

PC

  • Space / W / Up Arrow: Jump from the platform
  • Hold Space / W / Up Arrow while airborne: Keep your character flipping.
  • R: Replay the jump
  • Esc: Pause the game

Mobile

  • Press and hold the Up button: Prepare the jump
  • Release the Up button: Launch
  • Hold the Up button while airborne: Flip

The controls are wonderfully simple, but precision is where the real challenge lives. Your goal is not just to rotate - it is to rotate enough and then release at exactly the right moment.

Tips for Better Landings

Start by learning the airtime at each new jump spot. Your first attempt does not need to be heroic; it can simply be research with slightly more falling involved.

Keep an eye on your character’s feet as you prepare to land. They are your best clue for whether the body is lined up correctly. If the jump is short, keep the rotation modest. If there is plenty of height, you can experiment with additional flips - but do not get greedy.

Most importantly, use the quick replay feature. A failed landing is not the end of the world. Hit replay, adjust your timing, and try again while the previous attempt is still fresh in your brain.

With its cute simplicity and surprisingly demanding physics, Flip Spot makes every jump feel like a tiny stunt show. Stick the landing, enjoy the moment, and then immediately ask yourself, “Okay... can I do two flips next?”
