Melon Sandbox: Pure Physics Fun

Melon Sandbox is the kind of game that makes you lose track of time without even noticing. You open a map, place a few objects, and before long you're launching ragdolls across the screen to see what happens next. No quests are waiting for you, no countdown clock, and nobody telling you that you're playing the "wrong" way. It’s a huge sandbox, and your imagination does all the heavy lifting.

It’s the physics that make every moment entertaining. Characters stumble, objects crash into one another, and even the smallest experiment can end in a completely ridiculous chain reaction. Sometimes your plan works exactly as expected. Other times, it falls apart spectacularly - and that's usually even more fun.

Plenty of Maps to Explore

Melon Sandbox comes with 12 different locations, each offering a fresh place to experiment. You can create crazy scenes inside a laboratory, build strange machines in the city, test ideas in the forest, or send everything flying in space. There's also a desert, an ocean, and several other pixel-art environments that keep things from feeling repetitive.

Changing maps is instant, so it's easy to start over whenever a new idea comes to mind.

How to Play

Getting started doesn't take long. Open the game, choose a map, and begin placing objects wherever you like.

Most players begin by opening the Spawn Menu. This is where you'll find characters, weapons, tools, and plenty of other items to experiment with. Once everything is on the screen, you can move objects around, build simple structures, create obstacle courses, or trigger massive explosions to watch the physics engine do its thing.

Made a huge mess? No problem. The Clear Everything option instantly resets the map, giving you a blank canvas for your next experiment.

Controls

The controls are easy to remember.

  • Left Mouse Button: Select, drag, move, and place objects.
  • Right Mouse Button: Open the interaction menu to freeze, edit, or remove an object.
  • Clear Everything: Remove everything from the current map and start over.

That's all you need to begin creating your own funny situations.

Game Features

What keeps players coming back is the freedom to experiment without limits.

  • Realistic ragdoll physics with hilarious reactions.
  • Twelve pixel-art maps to explore.
  • Large collection of weapons, objects, and characters.
  • Endless building, testing, and destruction.
  • Built-in support for custom maps and mods.
  • No levels, no missions, no pressure. Just fun creativity.

Why It's Worth Playing

Some games can be fun without a complicated plot or difficult obstacles. Melon Sandbox is a simple game where you can make your own fun. Every interaction is a little bit different, so one experiment can lead to 10 more. From building crazy machines to breaking the physics system to just enjoying the unpredictable chaos, there is always another stupid idea to try.
