Size It Up: How Good Are Your Eyes?
Size It Up is a free online game for anyone who's ever looked at something and thought, "I'm pretty sure I know how big that is". Time to put that confidence to the test! You'll see a black silhouette with a given measurement and a white one you need to resize to match. Resize the white silhouette to what you think is right, lock in your answer, and find out how accurate your eyes really are!
Some rounds will feel like a piece of cake. Others might leave you wondering whether your eyes have been playing tricks on you all day. The best part? You can jump straight in without downloading anything or creating an account.
How to Play
Every round gives you a new chance to test your sense of scale. Here's the rundown.
Step 1: Study the Reference
Start with the black silhouette. Its real measurement is provided, so use it to get a feel for the size you're working with.
Step 2: Resize the White Silhouette
And now to the hard part. Resize the white shape until you think it matches the target’s actual size. Pay attention to the proportions and compare the overall length. If something still looks off, tweak the size a little more! It's not a shame to change your mind!
Step 3: Submit Your Estimate
When you’re ready, tap Lock In. The correct outline appears in red, revealing the actual size, how close your guess was, and the points you earned. Now see whether you nailed it or were a little too confident!
Step 4: Complete Five Comparisons
The Daily Challenge contains five rounds. Finish them all to get your final score. Try to stay consistent - even one surprisingly tricky shape can throw you off!
Game Controls
Playing on a computer? Use your mouse to click and drag the white silhouette until it looks about the right size. For smaller adjustments, grab the corner handle or press the arrow keys to change the size a little at a time. When you’re happy, hit Enter or click Lock In to submit your answer.
On a phone or tablet, drag the shape with your finger, or pinch to resize it. If a large silhouette doesn't fit nicely on screen, zoom out to see better.
A quick tip: don't lock in too early. One last comparison could make all the difference!
